Batman: Reign of the Riddler

The following mockups are a mix of current in game graphics and mockups. The Plasticman puzzle is viewable in the movement sample mockup at the bottom of this page. The Blue Beatle puzzle is not available for viewing in the motion mockup. Due to the compexity of the plasticman mockup I thought it was the better example to show how the movement would work for the game.

The included heroes in the game at the moment are, Atom, Plastic Man, Green Arrow, Blue Beatle, and Red Tornado.

Semi-Functional Mockup

This functionality mockup is to show how the game play will look and feel. The artwork is not completed in most places however the movement has been worked on quite extensively.

To move around the rooms click on the floors and the doors. Batman will walk over to the area that you clicked and if you clicked a door when he gets to the door he will go through it.

There is an unfinished puzzle mockup in this sample that is explained below if you are interested in learning more about it.



Mockup Images

The riddler is at it again. He has lured Batman and his friends to a warehouse where he has captured the other heroes, knocked out Batman taken his gear and put him in a massive funhouse of puzzles where his fellow heroes are being held captive.

As you work your way through the puzzles and rescue your fellow heroes you gain the ability to call them to solve certain puzzles and help you advance through the game.

Green arrow can blow up a wall with an exploding arrow and run a zipline for you, elastic man can launch you in the air and reach heights batman can't get to, etc.
The idea behind this puzzle is Plastic man has been tied up all over the room, he will tell you that he needs to have certain parts of his body unlocked in a certain order.

You must follow his directions and figure out which limb is which then travel to the corresponding lock box to release his limbs.

If you mess up the puzzle resets and chooses a new random order.

After he is released he will be a usable character in the bottom of your screen. At certain points he will be able to help you solve other puzzles to get through the game. Such as launching batman to a new level or lowering a ladder that was out of reach for batman.
This is another angle on the plasticman puzzle. This is in the functional mockup at the bottom of the page.
The puzzle for the Blue Beatle is a memory based game alot like the SIMON game that you no doubt played as a kid. The bars will light up in a certain order and you must repeat the pattern to unlock the electric cage.

The red lights around the room are on because the red beam is activated they will light in other colors and locations when other colors are activated. This is so the color sequence will be easier to remember.
This unfinished mockup is for the Atom puzzle. Atom will be trapped in the far left area and you must solve the puzzle by making an escape route for him to get to the far left. The puzzle shows a solved state in the mockup however the squares would be rotated randomly when the puzzle is started.

To interact with the puzzle you will simply click on the squares. Batman will go to a control panel when you click the squares so he is not in the way of the puzzle when you are attempting it.
